La Ca' Nova
Established in 1970s
La Ca' Nova was established in the 1970s by the Rocca family out of a 19th century farmhouse, in the centre of Barbaresco. Marco Rocca is the winemaker and runs the 14ha estate on reassuringly traditional lines while at the same time being on a constant quest for refinement. With only 13,000 bottles of Barbaresco being produced, split between a regional Barbaresco blend and the two single vineyard productions (Montefico and Montestefano), this is a small estate where exceptional terroir and quality winemaking go hand in hand.
Having spent his entire winemaking life concentrating on producing wines which he feels complement his vines and heritage, rather than seeking the limelight, it is only right that critical acclaim has now found Marco Rocca. Wine critics, including the highly regarded Antonio Galloni, are singing the praises of La Ca’ Nova and we believe it is only a matter of time before the wines take off – they are too good to be ignored.
“La Ca' Nova is, in my view, quite possibly the greatest Barbaresco estate most people have not heard about” - Antonio Galloni, vinous.com
