The 2016 Chianti Classico Ama, the estate’s entry-level wine, emerges from younger vines within the property. Dark, plum, spice, menthol and licorice flesh out in a forward, supple Chianti Classico built on fruit density and voluptuousness, both of which the wine has in spades. Just bottled, the 2016 needs time to be at its most expressive. A dollop (5%) Merlot rounds out the blend.
Anticipated maturity: 2019-2026
