Tasting Notes
Vinous 87-90
Medium ruby-red. Expressive aromas of plum, raspberry, aromatic herbs and coffee show a pungent leafy quality. Then much riper in the mouth, with silky, intense wild berry flavors displaying noteworthy sweetness and precision. Offers excellent fruit intensity and volume for the year. Persistent red berry nuances and substantial, slightly hard tannins coat the palate at the back.

The 2013 du Tertre has a light, pencil lead bouquet that is calling out for more fruit. It disconcertingly loses some vigor in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with tart cherry fruit on the entry, quite high acidity with a raw and abrasive finish. There are much better wines in recent vintages, but you probably know that already. Also tasted at the chateau in March 2016 with consistent notes.
