EnquiryThe 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from Mazoyeres, where their parcel is populated by vines planted in 1968 and 1969. The broody bouquet does not disguise that it is Mazoyeres, not Charmes, the fruit profile darker than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with good grip, a fine bead of acidity and a sinewy style. Don t be afraid to afford this four to five years in bottle. Very fine.

Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot (CLF), located in Flagey-Echézeaux, is a relatively new estate to the UK market and one whom we have had great pleasure in supporting for a number of years. As the name suggests, there are several families involved in the domaine, all working at different levels from vineyard to sales. Thomas Colladot (born in 1984!), the son of a Coquard, makes the wine and has seen his stock rise substantially recently, while the commercial side of the business is left to Claire Fleurot.
After making the shift to domaine bottling in 2009/2010, after many years of selling grapes to negociants, CLF have rapidly built a very strong reputation with a constant care for quality throughout their holdings in 12 appellations, of which no less than 6 are grands crus. There is no bought in fruit at CLF, all the juice come from the Domaine’s own vines, most of which were planted back in the 1950s, which are farmed using organic principles for the most part.
As a contemporary of Sebastian Cathiard, Thomas follows similar viticultural practices, the fruit is harvested manually and whole clusters are used depending on the vintage. New wood varies between 30 and 50%, saved for the Clos St. Denis and Grands Echézeaux which see about two-thirds due to its small production. Bottled unfined and unfiltered after 15 to 18 months in barrel, CLF’s signature style of concentration, ripeness and tension are turning the heads of even the most traditional collectors.

On Order wines are not yet available for delivery, storage or collection as In Stock wines are, and that creates complexities in managing a mixed order in terms of taxes and shipping.
What happens if I purchase On Order wines?
When you purchase On Order wines, no UK Duty / VAT or shipping costs will be charged at checkout. Once the wines have arrived at our warehouse, a member of the team will be in touch to organise the delivery, storage or collection as per your preferences, and arrange any additional invoicing required.

Do you buy wines from small, independent collectors?
James and Michael have had extensive experience in valuing cellars large and small. We will be delighted to offer prices on all wines and we are in a position to buy stock outright or broker wines on a your behalf. We are confident that our prices are amongst the most competitive in the market.

Why are some wines only available for customers based in the UK?
For some of our producers from whom we buy directly, the agreement has been put in place that we can only sell these wines to the UK market. On the wines for which this applies, there is a sign saying UK only on the product pages.
