Tasting Notes
Vinous 92+
Brilliant violet color. An expansive bouquet evokes ripe black/blue fruits, potpourri and olive paste. A lively mineral nuance builds in the glass. Shows impressive depth and energy on the palate, offering sappy dark berry, spicecake and violet flavors that are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Shows an appealingly light touch for its heft and finishes on a subtly tannic note, displaying sharp delineation and mineral thrust.
Robert Parker 92
Hints of peppery spice and licorice add complexity to the blueberry and cassis-scented nose of the 2017 Cote Rotie Ampodium. It’s medium to full-bodied, with silky but firm tannins and a long, dusty finish. It should be approachable in a couple of years but drink gracefully for a decade and a half.
