Giovanni Manzone can trace its roots back to 1925 when Stefano Manzone started cultivating vines and building a winery on what are the same holdings you can see today. Now five generations in, Mauro Manzone, alongside his sister Mirella and watchful eye of father Giovanni, is crafting some of the most appealing, approachable and enjoyable Nebbiolo in the Barolo region. Proud followers of tradition, the wines from Manzone are made using a non-interventionist approach in the vineyard and cellar to ensure the wines integrity of terroir expression shines through. During a tasting trip to Piedmont, we visited them for the first time. We were instantly smitten with the wines and are delighted to be able to offer them to you, direct from the property, moving forward.
“Manzone is one of Piedmont’s greatest under the radar gems. The wines have been especially fine here for a number of years, and yet the estate’s reputation has not caught up. Readers who appreciate fine, nervy Barolos will adore the 2018s. I was impressed, but I can no longer say surprised.” - Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, October 2022
