96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc. No Petit Verdot because it was picked after the fire. Likely to be released autumn 2020. Not quite as opulent and broad as the 2016. A bit edgier and spikier. Really quite pinched on the end at the moment. Slightly inky.
Anticipated maturity: 2022-2036
Robert Parker 95
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon sashays out of the glass with nonchalant notions of chocolate-covered cherries, mulberries, warm plums and boysenberries with hints of lavender, underbrush and fragrant soil plus a waft of cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals wonderful vitality with loads of perfumed black fruit and a sturdy, grainy frame, finishing with a little spiciness coming through.
Anticipated maturity: 2021-2038
